Hi All
There will be no session at Pugneys Saturday 9th July due to Pugneys running their annual Dragon Boat Racing.
To replace the Pugneys session we are planning to go to Linton Locks again. This is suitable for all levels of paddlers & even non paddlers can come along & have a play.
Directions to get there are take the A1 to junction 47, turn right onto the A59 towards York, approx 1 mile down is a large lay-by on the left, we will meet here at 12noon.
Anybody planning to join us must let me know by email by Thursday evening. email HERE or fill out the contact form below. If you require equipment please email me no later than Thursday evening so we can organise. We are able to transport a small number of boats & kit or alternatively arrange for you to collect kit & transport yourselves ( £10.00 deposit per person required for all loaned equipment)
So if you fancy a fun very wet afternoon come along & join us, hopefully the weather will be kind to us, ensure you bring food, drink & sun tan cream. There is a small charge to park/paddle at Linton Locks.Last years trip was great success with everyone having a great time.
The photo below shows the fish ladder that can be paddled and below the wide river, just to the right there is a small beach area ideal for the little ones to have a splash around.

Please let us know your preference and if you intend to paddle by filling in the contact form below or send a message on Facebook or email HERE
Please be aware the trip is only open to club members and at the moment only members with their own equipment and transport but we will look to see if we can help out if required.

Please be aware this river is for experienced kayaker’s only and not for novices – if you have not paddled the Washburn before and believe you are capable please complete the contact form at the end of this post – this will allow us to discuss suitability prior to the weekend to avoid any disappointment.

Batley Pool Sessions
Unfortunately the pool at Batley will close for four weeks from Sunday 6th June for urgent repairs, this means the last session will be Friday 4th June and then no Friday pool sessions during June.
There will however still be the Thursday night sessions at Pontefract pool.
However we will look to run some outdoor sessions on Friday nights on local rivers etc. for those interested. We have our club trailer and plenty of boats and kit at Pugneys so if people are interested in outdoor sessions we can organise the required equipment.
We will post details of each session here on the website and on social media sites and would ask that people who are interested contact the organiser to make arrangements.
Please note unfortunately the outdoor sessions are only open to club members and all participants must be competent swimmers.
If you have not already subscribed to the club website please do so using the subscribe section on our website – all posts will then be delivered automatically to your in box.
We can only apologise for this inconvenience but it is something that is beyond our control. [contact-form][contact-field label=’Name’ type=’name’ required=’1’/][contact-field label=’Email’ type=’email’ required=’1’/][contact-field label=’Comment’ type=’textarea’ required=’1’/][/contact-form]
