A reminder that the club pool sessions start again on Thursday 5th Sept at Pontefract and Friday 6th Sept at Batley.

Pontefract
Time: Thursdays, 8:15pm to 9:30pm

Batley
Time: Fridays, 7:00pm to 8:30pm

Both pool sessions are an ideal opportunity to practice your skills or learn to kayak in clean, warm water.

West Tanfield Slalom – Paddler info

Following the success of last years session Steve Thorley-Lawson will be running the session again this year. The session will be based on dry land at Thornes park.

The aim is to improve your rope skills and will include throwline techniques, knot tying, recover lines and the use of pulleys.

Please bring along any kit you have bought, throwlines, carabiners etc, even if you are not sure how to use.

The only prerequisite is that you can tie your own shoe laces.

Meet up time is 6:30pm in the car park at Thornes Park Athletic track.

A number of club members are attending the Washburn release this coming Sunday if anyone fancies coming along… The release starts at 9am. Note that it is not a beginners river however.
