This weeks white water training session will consist of a river trip again, we are thinking the River Holme near Holmfirth depending upon water levels.
We will meet at Holmfirth swimming pool car park HD9 3JL at 12.30pm, we will then unload all equipment and then shuttle the cars to the end point further down the river near Honley.
The river consists of several man made weirs similar to the one shown as well as a few sections of rapids and a couple of surf waves.
The trip will be suitable for any members who have been attending the Saturday training sessions but if in doubt please get in touch.
If anyone needs a lift or any kit etc. or has any questions please contact me at: ukprojects@hotmail.co.uk or speak to me (Andy) or Mike Friday at Batley.
This weeks whitewater training session will consist of a short river trip.
We will meet at Healey at 12.30pm, we will then unload all equipment and then shuttle the cars to the end point at Horbury Junction.
The river consists of the normal sections followed by couple of straight sections, a nice rapids section near the Bingley Arms and finally we end just after the weir shown.
Weather forecast for Saturday 14 degrees and sunny so should be a pleasant trip.
If anyone needs any kit etc. or has any questions please contact me at: ukprojects@hotmail.co.uk or speak to me (Andy) or Mike Friday at Batley.

This week the whitewater training session will take place at Sowerby Bridge. This stretch of the Calder is the home of Halifax Canoe Club and the river has been developed for slalom training.
The course consists of several small weirs with large pools below making it safe for most skill levels.
The plan is to meet here: HX6 1AN in the car park around 12.45, please ensure you have the correct paddling kit and ensure you wrap up warm as we all will get quite wet (including me).
If anyone needs any kit etc. or has any questions please contact me at: ukprojects@hotmail.co.uk
Please let me know if you plan to attend just in case we need to change venue due to water levels etc.
Here you can see some of our members having a bit of fun:

A quick note to say that the Pugneys lake sessions will begin this year on the 11th April.
Please note that car parking charges will apply this year – the cost is £2.80 for 4 hours. There are no longer any free parking concessions for members unfortunately.
Just a reminder that Batley pool sessions are still on so if you’d like to get some practice in before Pugneys starts in early April, or fancy learning to roll before the next round of river trips, why not come along?
Non-members wishing to have an intro to kayaking are most welcome too. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch!
