This week we are running a river trip, either from mytholmroyd to Sowerby Bridge or a session at Sowerby Bridge.

Suitable for most paddlers who have done some river work before. This is not a coach led paddle but lead by suitably competent paddlers with knowledge and experience to take people down this grade of water.

This week we are running a a single river session and taster session on the river Calder at Horbury Junction.

Please be aware that the water temperature as well as the outside temperature has now dropped considerably and as such anyone wishing to paddle must ensure they have appropriate clothing. Ideally this will consist of wetsuit and wetsuit shoes, we have very limited numbers of these at the club and can’t guarantee availability or suitability. We have waterproof jackets for use. Unfortunately we may have to turn anyone away who does not have the appropriate clothing.

Morning river session:

10.30 – 12.30pm         

Morning river taster session:

10.30 – 12.30pm         

The café at the river is open now until 9 – 1pm so if you want a sandwich you can grab a butty before getting on the water.

The cost for borrowing equipment is £10.00 per person for any session and tasters sessions are £15 per person.  

Anyone who has not paddled with the club before MUST complete a taster session before joining regular sessions, this allows us to assess any new members and run over club safety procedure’s etc. Taster sessions can also be booked on the website .

Afternoon session Pugneys:

1.00 – 3.00pm

Afternoon taster session Pugneys:

1.00 – 3.00pm

The café at the river is open now until 9 – 1pm so if you want a sandwich you can grab a butty before getting on the water.

We have rain forecast for the rest of the week so there is a possibility that the river will rise and we may have to cancel sessions or move to Pugneys. Please keep a check on Facebook for any updates.

We may also look to run a small advanced training session on the river at a different location depending upon the river level.
